DR. SALAH HASSAN
Chief Veterinarian/Surgeon
Dr. Salah Hassan has been a practicing veterinarian for over 30 years and is the founder of the Astoria Animal Hospital. He graduated from Cairo University in 1982 and came to the United States where he subsequently graduated from Iowa State University in 1996. Dr. Hassan established his first veterinary clinic as Astoria Animal Hospital in Astoria, NY in 1997. Dr. Hassan invented the paw caps for cats which are now known as “Soft Paws”. His medical interests include surgeries (soft tissue, orthopedic, and oral surgery) as well as dermatology. He is a member of most social and medical veterinary associations. Dr. Salah Hassan has dedicated himself to veterinary care and surgical procedures and in his free time, he enjoys traveling, reading, playing tennis and horse riding.
